MY STORY


Hello and welcome to V2 Baked Vegan Bakery! My name is Charity, I am the owner and operator and the woman behind the magic here at this licensed home-based small business; formerly known as, Cake Life Artisan Cakes. I changed the business name to reflect our transition from conventional to Vegan and to allow for our expansion from primarily cakes to a wide range of baked goods and pastries; I needed a name that would grow as the business began to grow and evolve. I personally became vegan for the animals and our amazing planet. I do not see an animal as less than me, rather that they are my equal and deserve the same respect, compassion and love as any human being. Animals are not commodities for us to use for our convenience or gratification, they are living beings and it's time we acknowledge them and do what we can to speak for them as they cannot speak for themselves. 

 

I am a 2015 Graduate of the International Baking and Pastry program from Lincoln Culinary Institute, President's List in West Palm Beach, Florida. My love for food has been a part of who I am from as far back as I can remember. My maternal grandfather was a butcher in Cuba before he migrated to the US, the man was certainly gifted in creating the most amazing traditional Cuban cuisines. Having been raised by my grandparents, I was privileged to be by my grandfathers side as his little helper in the kitchen as as a child which nurtured my love of food. I've spent a large part of my private life at home in the kitchen, it is my favorite place in the house. I love creating amazing meals for my family and friends, feeding others brings immense joy to my life. 

I have been blessed to be the mother to a bunch of great kids, one of whom is differently-abled and medically complex. My children are my greatest gift and through them I have grown immensely but my daughter especially has helped me see the world with a new lens. With a whole new perspective on life I decided it was time to make my lifelong dream come true and here I am today.

 

Through the pastry arts I am able to creatively express the love I have for creating amazing food and apply my creativity to that as I bring ideas to life. The most rewarding part of all of this for me is that I can show people you can have amazing food without the need to cause harm to any animals. ​I love to witness the amazement in my clients when they try our products and realize their fears of "vegan" was unfounded. 

With every client that purchases our products is one more step towards protecting animals. I personally chose to live my life in a way that does not bring harm to any sentient being. Our products are proof that making that choice doesn't mean you have to go without the sweetest treats. 

I appreciate quality in my own life and live to that standard through my business. I strive to provide an excellent customer service experience and amazing products. All orders are baked to order, all items are always fresh and created from scratch. 

When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I look forward to working with you and providing you with delicious desserts to brighten your day, because sometimes you just need some sweets!
